A Samno-Attic Bronze Helmet

Circa 5th-4th Century B.C.

Height 7 inches (17.5 cm).

Condition
Intact. Very insignificant dots of bronze disease in the front on proper left side. The palmette has been reapplied with oxidation present. The helmet was not consigned with cheekpieces; area around proper right cheekpiece has been restored with resin. Other repairs, restorations, and possible infill; conservation work visible on the inside of the helmet. Overall malachite green and cuprite patina. Old collection number reading MM.2010.425 on inside of helmet. Height with stand 14 1/2 inches.
